The first week

The first week in Australia was quite busy.  We spent most of our days walking (b/c we do not have a car) to explore the city.   The weather is beautiful!  We are in the middle of winter right now.....during the day it is around 70 and then drops to the high 40s at night.   I feel like I am back in Maine sometimes!   We went to the grocery several times...since we had to carry our purchases on our walk back to the apartment.  We got my mobile service set up..they call it mobile vs cell.  Our relocation specialist, Sharyn, took the girls and I to visit their new school, St Aidan's.  At St Aidan's, we received a tour of the school and also purchased uniforms.   I will post pictures on day 1, July 12!
We have been using Skype to keep in touch with family...please send me your Skype user name if you would like to try to Skype with us!
On Friday, Troy & I took a 5 hour driving course.   It was pretty neat.  The instructor, who used to drive the Prime Minister, took us out to a remote race track to get started.  I guess he didn't want to take any chances!   The instructor set up cones that we had to maneuver around and he set up a solemn course which was quite fun!   Afterwards, we went and picked up the car that Troy will be provided while here.  Yeah...we have transportation!
While we did our training, the girls were treated to a day at Dream World.  Troy's PA, Tracy, and her 13 year old daughter, Erin, took care of the girls for the day.  Dream World is an amusement park on the Gold Coast with tons of rides and a lot of sweets!!
