Term 1 Break

After 10 weeks of school for Term 1, the girls have a two week break.   Troy was already in Singapore for a meeting so the girls and I flew to there to meet him and explore for 2 days.   We left Singapore and traveled to Phuket, Thailand where we stayed for 5 nights.  It was an amazing adventure!!

Singapore was very “Americanized” with a ton of shopping and 24 hour places.

Our first stop was at the Marina Sands SkyPark.   It was amazing.  For my friends who shop, you would LOVE it....it had every store you could think of.  It also had a river through the mall area.   From the top of the SkyPark, you could view most of Singapore!!   Amazing!  And yes, that is a floating soccer field!

Next, on to see the Merlion...

The Sri Mariamman Temple is Singapore's oldest Hindu temple.  We had to take our shoes off before entering...& no photos allowed inside.

Then we went to Heritage Centre in Chinatown which is just full of people and tons of markets.

Next stop, Phuket, Thailand.   We stayed at an amazing resort, Angsana Laguna.

On our second day, we took a 4 in 1 Excursion.  This included seeing the local culture, learning about curry, coconut and rice;  it also included Elephant Trekking, Water buffalos, rubber trees and much more! It ended with a trip on a Junk Boat out into a beautiful bay.

And then more fun at the resort...

The residence that we stayed in...

One day, we hired a Private Speedboat through Coral Seekers and had the most amazing trip.  Stuart, our guide, and Yo-yo, our driver, took us all over Phang Nga Bay.  We saw beautiful limestone formations just popping up out of the bay.  We got to see James Bond Island where The Man with the Golden Gun was filmed.  We also saw a Sea Gypsy village which is built completely on stilts with a school, church, etc.  Our trip also included a beautiful picnic lunch on a remote island and snorkeling!!   I could not take enough pictures to capture the beauty we saw!!
